The Marquee

Our lovely marquee arrived this week. We're very proud of our marquee and rightly so as it is beautifully vintage, handmade in Norfolk with a traditional rounded end canvas, lovely old wooden poles and sits so prettily down in the Dell. You can decide to have our marquee either with or without the walls and she is literally a blank canvas, ready for you to decorate & add your own little touches that you’ve either made or you have picked up along the way. The marquee can be furnished with whichever styling you prefer but looks particularly good with our chosen trestle tables & wooden chairs.

Here's a few photos to give you a taste of what loveliness to expect at The Keeper and the Dell.

If you love what you see & would like to come and view the rest of the place, contact Lolly on 01603 864816 or email lolly@thekeeperandthedell.com.

An offer for the Most Curious of Brides

In celebration of launching our new website for The Keeper and the Dell  and in honour of our wonderful friends over at A Most Curious Wedding we have a very special offer for their Most Curious of Brides.

We are offering a marvellous £500 discount to the first 3 Most Curious Brides that book their wedding for this year at The Keeper and the Dell. That's a wonderful saving and will go a long way to helping you create that perfect wedding of your dreams. Our beautiful rustic barn and traditional marquee set in a pretty dell is perfect for couples looking for an outdoor venue with the wonderful chance to celebrate & sleep under the stars, all within a beautiful country setting.

So make sure you visit the Most Curious Wedding Fair this Saturday, 23rd March at St Andrews Hall, Norwich and ask to have your name put on the Keeper and the Dell list as you come through the door. You can also check out all the information on our website and get in touch with us through our contact form. I'll then get back in touch with the Most Curious of Brides within the next couple of weeks to book viewings.

For any brides that are looking for a Fair that is geared towards the creative & uber~chic rather than the commercial, shiny wedding look that many of the other Fairs seem to follow, than the Most Curious Fair is for you. It will hold more than fifty stalls of beautifully crafted goods, such as our Norfolk based favourites, the wonderful Eclectic Eccentricity, purveyors of  beautifully styled jewellery with an edgy, vintage feel and K&Q collectors of fine props & pretties including vintage china and glassware which they hire out for weddings and other special celebrations.

Keep an eye out for our lovely new 'page keepers' which will be handed out at the Fair to any Bride who wants a little reminder of our lovely venue that can also keep a place in her little wedding note book as she peruses the Most Curious Wedding Fair. Have a lovely day ladies & we'll hopefully see you all soon!

Launching our new Facebook page with a dip!

We're busy tweeting to all our followers that we were able to easily bring over from our Follies Twitter feed but for Facebook we had to create a brand new page. It's been a busy time at the keyboard, updating the Twitter, creating our lovely new website, www.thekeeperandthedell.com and the new Facebook Page. This has meant endless cups of tea & chocolate biscuits to keep the fingers typing and the brain in gear.  As a little incentive to get people to like the new page, I made a pledge that if we reach 100 likes before the weekend I will jump in the sea!  We reached over 100 likes within 24 hours so it looks like I am going to have to complete this self set challenge.  Photographic proof will follow after the weekend ~ keep an eye out for it on our new Facebook page and don't forget to like it!

Our Barn sits quietly awaiting

We've not had a private party here at The Keeper and the Dell since February, when there was a lovely Valentines pop up supper but we've kept the home fires burning and got out there ourselves as much as we can, despite the chilly weather. Once a fire is lit, and the music is playing and we've knocked up a couple of 'Norfolk Unicorns' (like a Moscow Mule but chilled with icicles and taste far better), we like nothing more than throwing a few arrows at the board followed by a game or two of cards.

I love how the barn lends itself to so many occasions, and it doesn't matter if it's just the two of us out there enjoying the quiet of the night or a whole bunch of friends & family really filling the old place with a great party atmosphere.  But for now, like the rest of us, the Barn sits quietly waiting for Summer to arrive.

Spring is in the Air?

It's been a busy couple of weeks down in the Dell. Over 200 tonnes of top soil has been delivered in preparation for the landscaping of the terraces that will gently slope down into the Dell, beautifully laid to green grass and wildflowers.  It's a wonderful image, and we can't wait  until Summer arrives but with the heavy rain and snow, the work has come to a bit of a standstill and the topsoil lays like a sleeping giant on the drive with the two diggers quietly guarding it.  Hopefully the weather will begin to improve and the men can get back to work. In the meantime, I am really enjoying pouring over wildflower catalogues and talking to florists & gardeners about what will be best to grow here. We'd love for Brides to not only enjoy the loveliness of being surrounded by wildflowers on their wedding day, but also to be able to pick some flowers to add to their own bouquets.
